Every bird has a unique personality and deserves to be noticed for its character as well as its beauty. I draw birds using the familiar composition of a school class portrait that is taken on picture day. Their personalities and emotions are visible in their faces. For all of my drawings, I focus largely on color. I try to match each color I see and like a puzzle, it eventually becomes a whole picture. After that, I feel like a sculptor getting the textures, expression, and focus the way it should be. Drawing feels like magic to me.
