I began working with leather about three years ago. I knew nothing about the craft but with the guidance of some great YouTube videos and Facebook groups I learned fairly quickly and felt successful in making my first satchel. Punching hundreds of holes one by one and then stitching them is very meditative for me. It’s wonderful to start with a flat piece of leather and coax it to become a beautiful, three dimensional, functional item that will last for decades. I learn something new with each project and enjoy the creative problem solving that leatherwork provides.
