Sarah Bak - Hydrangea Vase
This decorative vase is hand thrown with porcelain clay on the potter's wheel and handpainted in a subtle yet pretty pattern of hydrangea flowers. The subtle pattern is simple enough to not detract from your flowers, but is still a statement piece in your living room when not in use. The pattern wraps around the vase and is beautiful from all sides. I purposefully make these vases a bit heavier to increase stability, especially when filled with a lovely bouquet.

A little bit of info about the process: Each pot goes through many steps from start to finish, starting with getting thrown on a potter’s wheel. The bottom is then trimmed and smoothed. Once it is fully dry it is fired the first time to approximately 1800 degrees. It is then meticulously hand painted with lead free under glazes, a clear glaze is applied, and the pot is then fired to approximately 2165 degrees.
